DO YOU AND YOUR COMPANY PLAY BY THE OLD OR THE NEW RULES?
Businesses’ reality has changed radically – we are now experiencing the fourth industrial revolution and completely new rules of the game. Nevertheless, most companies are still operating as if it was the 20th century. The reason is not ill will, but habits that are so ingrained that the majority believe they are the only way to go. However, as the increasing attention to disruption, artificial intelligence, climate change, etc. shows, it is more and more urgent that we update our mindset and practices to the new reality. Companies that play by the new rules will be more future-proof, especially in the long run. Companies that wait too long are at risk of dying.

“We can not solve our problems with the same mindset that created them”
Albert Einstein
If we want to adapt to the new rules of the game we must update our mindset and our practices so that there is a better balance between yin and yang, in ourselves and in the company culture.
We need to become better at balancing our rational and emotional intelligence, facts and intuition, reflection and action.
Most companies treat only symptoms of their problems. Very few operate in alignment with the bigger picture.
When all the 7 principles of 21st century leadership are applied, all actions will be rooted in a solid foundation, aligned with the goal of sustainable success.
Excerpt from the Gyldendal Business book The future is Feminine:
“In the shift from the masculine to the feminine era, women are today’s canary birds. If women die in the workplace – in the form of stress, exits or lack of occupation of leadership positions – there is too much masculine gas in your company’s hallways. And that gas will eventually eventually kill the men too, so to speak. So if you want to know if your company is geared to the new, feminine age – or if all of you have the prospect of slowly getting stifled by the oxygen-poor leftovers of the industrial age air at the back of the train – then pay attention to how the women thrive.”
HISTORICAL CHANCE
“When the wind of change blows, some build walls, and others build wind turbines.”

What does your business do?
It may seem expensive to update employees to the new mindset – especially if they do not stay forever. But it may be even more expensive to not update them.
There are plenty of growth opportunities in mastering the 21st century principles – for virtually all products and services need to be updated to the new reality.
Businesses, as people, need to decide whether they will help shape the future, or inherit a reality that others create for them.
Excerpt from the Gyldendal Business book The future is Feminine:
“What happens if we do not use the feminine qualities our time calls for? Then Europe, maybe the whole Western world, is likely to suffer the same fate as other former great powers that have not kept up to speed. The signs are already visible everywhere. In China, more engineers are trained in one month than we train in Denmark in a whole year. It takes a lot to keep up with the new hungry and diligent middle class, which in China alone counts 200 million people. Unless we take the challenges seriously, the West runs the risk of turning into an area of weakness, welfare and low competitiveness – a picturesque living museum for tourists from the new superpowers in the Pacific, where we dance folk dance for the chinese. And if we dont evolve our human qualities at the same exponential speed as the technological development, we are likely to all become mere slaves of Artificial Intelligence.”
